Canada's Ecological Gifts Program (EGP) provides a way for Canadians with ecologically sensitive land to protect nature and leave a legacy for future generations. If your land trust wants to learn more about the benefits of the EGP and the necessary application steps, please contact Andrea Kettle at 416.739-4286 or email andrea.kettle@ec.gc.ca. We would be pleased to meet you, your board and volunteers to present information about the EGP process, how to determine ecological sensitivity, conservation easement planning and change in use or disposition of ecological gifts.

Dear Kathy

It's hard to believe this is the third issue of OLTA E-News already! This month we'll focus on Land Trust Publications. Feedback is strongly encouraged for each publication made available on the OLTA website.

Please recommend any new or existing publication

OLTA could make available on the website.

Our goal is to make these publications useful and accessible to land trusts across the province, and whenever possible, we will make both an electronic  downloadable version and a cost recovery print version available.

CLTA - S&P Technical Review
Feedback due by March 15, 2007!

CLTA logoIf Land Trusts are to keep the public's trust, we must act ethically and responsibly at all times. In 2005, Ontario Land Trust Alliance worked with advisors across the country and the newly forming Canadian Land Trust Alliance to revise the Land Trust Standards and Practices based on the Standards and Practices of the Land Trust Alliance of the United States.

A technical review presents the opportunity to present feedback on this important publication. Please send any suggested revisions to Dave Walker  davew@clta.ca by March 15th.

Please understand that the scope of this technical review may not allow for the incorporation of every suggested revision.
